One Page, Sixteen Tattoos

In 2012 the American Tattoo Artist Magazine ran a full page of my work in issue #30. No interview, no text: sixteen photos and a caption with my name, bardadim.com and St. Petersburg.

What the Page Shows

The page is a fair portrait of my work at the time, because it shows everything at once. A pin-up with lilies, a crane, a scorpion. Black and grey portraits: a dog, a boy in a mask, an old man with an accordion. A tiger, an octopus, a rabbit, a spider hanging from a jewelled chain on a foot. And in the middle, colour sleeves in the Japanese manner and a black and grey dragon.

I had been studying irezumi for several years by then, but I still worked in every style a client brought me. It took until 2018-2019 before I tattooed nothing else. That road is told in Judged a Decade Later. Seen today, this page is the before picture.
