Tattoo over Scar. Yes or No?

Tattoo over scar, is it an option? Depending on what kind of scar we are talking about – stretch mark, cut, burn? How deep it is? If the nerves are ok or damaged? If a person prone to keloid? Etc…

Scar tissue can be tattooed, meaning you can “insert” the ink into it. But in the same time its not the same as regular skin tissue and it may react differently – it holds the ink in a different way, the lines might be not as defined as on surrounding skin and it might require repeat sessions… Its definitely more sensitive. So depending on every unique situation and recommendation of dermatologist there are few options for tattooing over/near scar. I had many clients who has scars, here is one example.

In This case we decided to MASK the scar, I created design according to the scar position and muscles movement. Japanese Tattoo Style fits perfectly. First session is done. Stay tuned for more!
